Mercury Music Awards

The Mercury Music Prize is an annual award for best album from a UK or Irish act. The award started in 1992 and is seen as an alternative to the industry dominated Brit awards. Unknown up and coming artists usually win the award as the Mercury music prize selects Bands and Artists who haven’t signed a major record deal.
Artists like, Antony and The Johnsons, Dizzee Rascal and Klaxons were relatively unknown but after their victories at the awards went on to become huge successes in the music world selling out tours and selling millions of albums world wide, giving the Mercury Music Awards a quite high regard by many in the music industry.
In my Data graph i have created a list of past winners and put up their respected UK sales to compare how successful the acts have been, the graph clearly shows which act has been successful and which act has struggled since winning the award.
